Dr. Emily Leuthner, DVM, MS, DACVIM (of Country View) writes:
"Dr. Stephanie Hirsbrunner also has a very keen interest in chicken medicine and surgery. We do travel to people's homes and farms to see chickens or they can come into our clinic. We are seeing a growing interest in poultry in our area and would love to be an integral part of the local poultry community. Please think of Country View Veterinary Service as a source for medical advice and care,"

"My name is Dr. Karin Kanton. I have been an avian/exotic/small animal
veterinarian in Madison for the last 18 years. I live in Deerfield and I am a housecall veterinarian for the Madison area. I graduated from UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. I also received my undergrad degree from Madison with a major in Poultry Science. I have been raising chickens for the last 7 years - laying hens, roosters, broiler chicks. I am available for housecalls or "in clinic" appointments. I have treated various breeds of poultry - chickens, ducks, peacocks, etc."

Here's who your neighbors go to.... "We have had good luck with Larry Mahr out of Country View vets in Oregon (835-0551). His fees are very fair, he's very good about calling back and he takes a real interest in your birds. We've actually never met him-just dropped off birds with various ailments and talked on the phone. I think that most of his practice is large farm animals so he's out on the road quite a bit." --Vicky F
